/Problem
Rebuilding the site of a licensed security firm came with one hard condition, that no existing address could disappear from search results. Securand covers physical and technical security, from alarm systems and CCTV through response patrols to detective services and working dogs. The previous site had grown over years on a bought template that constrained the layout of every section and made adding further services difficult. In parallel the company was preparing to launch its alarm application at a separate address, and enquiries from the two sites had no common place to land. The work covered a rebuild from the ground up together with the quote configurators and a tool for checking patrol coverage.
/Approach
The first pass was a faithful copy of the old site. We rebuilt all fifteen pages, text and photographs alike, at the same addresses, so the switchover would read as no change at all to a search engine. Only on that verified copy did we lay the design, a dark palette around the company yellow, new typography and motion on scroll. Every round closed with the same review, from the legibility of the text to the weight of the images, run page by page.
/Solution
Every section now has the layout its content calls for, so price lists, galleries and configurators look the way they were designed. Motion appears on scrolling and steps aside for visitors whose device is set to ask for less animation. The heaviest shot, the rotating house on the security systems page, was rendered once on our own machines and saved as video, so a phone only plays back a finished file. Three configurators walk a visitor from the first question to a complete enquiry, and a separate tool takes a coverage question at an address picked from the suggestions, so the team receives a precise point on the map rather than a hand-typed description. Contact forms, configurators and coverage enquiries from both sites flow into one place, closed to anyone outside.
/Result
All fifteen pages answer at the addresses they had before, on a site that was replaced in full. Every enquiry arrives stamped with the site, the page and the kind of matter, so the team knows at once whether it is a CCTV question or a job application. The operator sees it on the dispatch room computer moments after it is sent. Another form is a single change on our side, with no rebuild of the inbox.
