/Problem
The last item in stock must not sell twice, every paid order must be despatchable, and no address should be retyped into a label by hand. Those were the owner's terms before any work began. The commission covered a brand and an online shop for cat accessories, set apart from offerings built on ready-made templates and distributor photographs. Prices, photographs and stock levels were to be managed by the owner, without involving us.
/Approach
What a customer owes is settled by the shop's back office, which works out the basket total, the free delivery threshold and any discount from its own price list. The shop's data sits on servers in Europe, out of reach of anything running in a browser. Nobody outside can alter the sum due, and it adds up to the penny.
/Solution
At launch the catalogue held four categories and twenty products, along with filters, sorting and a search across product names and descriptions. Bundles come with a configurator where the shopper puts a set of patterns together, and the basket survives a refresh. Buying without an account is the default at the checkout, with free delivery over 149 zloty and several delivery options to choose from, among them a parcel locker, a courier and collection in person. Phone number and postcode are checked exactly as the carrier requires, so no parcel stalls at the label stage. Card, BLIK and Przelewy24 payments happen on the shop's own page, in its own colours. The order, the stock coming down and the discount code being used all happen in the same instant, so the last item in stock cannot sell twice.
/Result
Pan Kotecki's shop is live at pankotecki.pl. Payment is confirmed by the payment provider, not by whether the shopper made it back from the bank page, so only genuinely paid orders reach despatch. When an amount or a currency disagrees with the order, it goes to manual review. Abandoned baskets return to stock after two hours. Prices, promotions, orders and shipping labels are run by the owner from one panel. If the back office is briefly unavailable, the shop shows a fallback catalogue instead of an empty list.
