A web app (PWA) and Windows program for a stonemasonry workshop, producing quotes, contracts, completion certificates and invoices even without a signal.

The workshop makes stone worktops to order. Each job passes through three places, from measuring at the customer's home and cutting in the workshop to fitting on site.

Fitting also happens in properties with no signal. Quotes with 8 and 23 per cent VAT, contracts and completion certificates used the firm's own forms. Designers, carpenters and kitchen studios also work on the jobs, and the stone is on display at partners' showrooms.

The system had to link these places and people, with one view for the office and another for fitters. Quote, contract, certificate and payment were to be handled in one app, on site too.

- How can a fitting end with a signed certificate and payment taken, in a property with no signal?
- How can the office see the current state of a job without phoning the fitter?
- How can the price list and finances stay with the office, out of the fitters' view?
- How can a customer see what the worktop will look like in the chosen stone?

## Forms rebuilt box by box

The quote, contracts and completion certificate follow the workshop's own forms box by box, so nobody had to learn a new layout mid-season. A new quote starts with stone, cutting, measuring, fitting and delivery, and further items come from the catalogue. The quote warns when a worktop is entered at 8 instead of 23 per cent VAT, and lists what the customer prepares before fitting.

One button turns a finished quote into a contract or job with the customer's details and amount. The app has six contract templates. They range from contracts for work at different VAT rates to a cooperation agreement with a seller and the customer's statement on natural stone's properties. Contracts fill in the amount in words, and both sides sign on screen.

Customers can see the worktop in one of eight kinds of stone, straight or L-shaped, with cut-outs for the sink and hob. Every document prints on letterhead or saves as a PDF, and the send button prepares an e-mail or text message to the customer with the document number.

## Saved on the device first

This is an offline app for field teams, so after the first sign-in it also works without internet. Every change is saved on the device first and stays after the app closes, then reaches a shared Supabase cloud database by itself once the signal returns. The menu shows the state, from a note that a change will be saved later to confirmation that everything is synced.

An entry added on a tablet appears on the office computer moments later, without a refresh. The app installs from the browser on iPad, iPhone and Android as a home screen icon. After the first load it reports that it is ready to work offline.

Each document type has its own continuous numbering series for the year. All accounts work on shared data in the cloud, so wiping a device that is handed back does not delete the firm's data. A copy of all data can also be saved to a file and loaded back. The app is written in React and runs on Vercel's servers.

## Fitting and the office

The app has four roles, from owner to fitter, and the menu shows each person only their own tabs. Fitters start the day with a plan of addresses and a map button, get the customer to sign on screen and issue the receipt. The signature is saved with the signer's name, date and time, all visible on the print, and the fitter's view leaves out quotes, contracts, invoices and finances.

The daily briefing is a sheet for the crew listing each fitter's installations, measurements to do, slab deliveries, jobs to settle and new contracts. It can be printed or sent by e-mail. Each job has eight stages ticked off with a date, from enquiry to settlement. The calendar tells measurements, installations, deliveries, meetings and handovers apart, filters by employee and prints the week's plan.

The office dashboard shows what needs action, such as quotes to send, contracts to sign, overdue tasks and invoices past their due date. The office also keeps client and contractor records, partner stone displays, the cash report, bank transfers and cash flow.

On office computers the same app runs as a Windows program, with an installer or as a portable version, and installs without an administrator password. It saves a document as a PDF without the print dialog. Paper documents are camera-scanned, with the page straightened, into a PDF attached to the job or client, and the in-app guide walks through the tabs and common situations.
